For Christmas this year I decided to start a new tradition, and make banket. It was a HUGE hit with the family. Banket is a traditional Dutch treat - it's a pastry filled with almond paste. Here's how it turned out:
Not only have I inherited my mother's love of banket, it seems I've also inherited her gift with houseplants:

The banket was great, but the plant looks dreadful... time to consider silk!
I had a houseplant for years that I had to replace everytime we came back from vacation. After a while I just gave up...
Since I couldn't leave a comment without a blogger account I now have one,but don't expect any postings, just comments. Now about the plant thing. You must not have gotten the same education in that area as Emily did. Yeah for silk...The banket was great can't wait till next Christmas.
