Last night Amy and I had a conversation about which fictional character we would date if given the opprtunity. The first guys that came to mind where naturally the classic Jane Austen characters - Mr. Darcy (
Pride and Prejudice), George Knightley (
Emma), or Henry Tilney (
Northanger Abbey).
But of course, the real answer is obvious:

Gilbert Blythe

hahahahaha! Gilbert!
"There was always only you Anne..."
Gilbert is perfect date material as long as he lets you get a "word in edge wise" and remains a "chum" while he pines away for you until you realize that you have always loved him. After all there is always a "chapter of revelations in everyones life".
Obvious choice - and a good one.
Before I saw the caption I knew who that was, and I haven't seen those movies in like 15 years! (I had to really think of the time span for that one.) One of my favorites from childhood.
I could never decide between Gilbert and Mr. Darcy. Of course, whenever I see Colin Firth in the role of the latter, I tend to lean in his direction.
*sigh*
