The Price of a Corn Dog

I'm spending some time at the folks' this week, enjoying the festivities of Tulip Time in Holland. Today I was spending a beautiful afternoon downtown Holland and decided to treat myself to a corn dog. The following is an abbreviated exchange that took place between myself and the Carninval Food Vendor Guy (CFVG):

Me: One corn dog please
CFVG: Ketchup or mustard?
Me: No, thanks just plain.
CFVG: So...what's your name?
Me: What? (caught a little off-guard)
CFVG: What's your name?
Me (against my better judgement): Amanda
CFVG: So...how about I give you a call sometime?
Me: No thanks, just the corn dog.
CFVG: That'll be $3

I'm pretty sure I could have saved myself the three bucks by giving the guy my number, but I think I would have felt a little cheap doing so.

And really? These are the kind of guys that are asking me for my number? Random carvnival food-selling guys? Is this supposed to be flattering, because it's really not, as I can image this guy will probably ask the next available-looking female who comes to his window for her number too.
