The Failed Popsicle Experiment

I love Jell-o Pudding Pops, so when my roommate came home with a spiffy new popsicle mold, I decided to try and make my own. Last night I mixed up a batch of instant Jell-o pudding (chocolate, naturally) and poured it into the molds, excited that I would be able to enjoy a homemade Jell-o Pudding Pop, at a fraction of the cost to purchase them in the store. Alas, it was not to be. The pudding froze fine, but when I tried to take them out of the mold, the sticks just pulled right out of the frozen pudding. I even tried immersing the mold in warm water for a minute, to try and loosen them, but to no avail. So I ended up scooping the frozen pudding out of the molds and into a dish that I'll keep in the freezer. The frozen pudding tastes good...I just wish it was on the end of the stick. Oh well.

It may be a little labor intensive (only a little, though), but you could partially line each popsicle mold with a strip of wax or parchment paper. Then tug on the paper to get them out when they're frozen.

I love frozen pudding.

I can't find the jello pudding pops in the grocery store anymore. Is it just me?
