I have never been so thankful for a home appliance as I have been for my window air-conditioner this weekend. It has been hotter than hell in our house, making the prospect of trying to sleep very unbearable. Thankfully, earlier this summer I purchased a window air-conditioner from a co-worker who gave me a good deal. Now my bedroom is at a nice, cool temperature and I can sleep well.
I'm afraid I'm hooked on the TV show "24". My sister often mentions her enjoyment of the show, so I picked up the first few episodes of Season 1 at Blockbuster. I watched all 4 episodes in one sitting on Saturday night - it was so good! I went back to Blockbuster on Sunday to get the next few episodes, but the DVD was checked out - tragedy! Now I must wait. Arrgh. The good news is, I have found this is a good show to watch while crocheting, which is great considering I need to make some progress on this baby blanket I'm working on. With about 90 or so episodes available for me to check out from Blockbuster, I think I'll be set for quite a while.
I picked the first two cucumbers out of my garden yesterday. I haven't tried them yet, so I don't know how they taste. My beans and tomatoes are coming along, with the peppers making slow progress.

Be careful Mandy, 24 is soooo addictive. 90 episodes sounds like a lot, but it only took Matt and I a few months to watch them all and now we are desperately waiting for season 5 to come out on DVD!!! I'm glad you enjoy it though, and that you are working on the blanket for baby girl DeWitte (still to be named!)
IT HAS BEEN SO HOT! I couldn't sleep last night because of it and at 1am I went and sat on our front porch. Thankfully we are getting some hand-me down- air conditioners (window units) from our friends who just moved....they now have central air. I can not wait to have a cool room!
Alias is just as adicting once you get it on DVD...
Lost is the same way...man, that show is like a drug...an addictive drug...not like tylenol...
