I just returned from my garden. Things are definitely growing...perhaps too much. There must be this special force around the outside of our house that makes everything grow in crazy, wild abundance. When I first planted my beans and tomatoes, I *thought* I had staked them well enough. Well, my tomato plants are HUGE and have outgrown their stakes. Note to self: this is why tomato plants are often grown in cages. The beans, which are right next to the tomatoes, have quickly outgrown their stakes as well - in fact, they are winding themselves around the tomato plants. I think I'm coming up with a new vegetable - the beamato. (Kind of like the Simpson's "tomacco", only not as addictive.) The cucs are okay, although I anticipate there will be a lot of them once they really get goin'. I cut open my first one tonight. I think it was a little under-ripe, but other than that okay. I only have one sickly looking pepper so far. I don't think the peppers are getting enough sun; they are overpowered by the tomatoes on one side, and the weeds on the other.
I wish my garden was neat and nice like Lisa's. Alas, it not to be so. *Sigh*

Remember, your yard is VERY fertel! I also think that the reason ours is so nice and neat is because Paul spends a lot of time out there weeding, pruning and arranging. He loves it...maybe you could borrow him?
