2011 Bookshelf: Cutting for Stone

This is my lazy book review of "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese:

  • Starts out slow
  • Picks up the pace
  • Set in Ethiopia, then New York, then Ethiopia
  • About twin brothers raised by surgeon parents who grow up to become surgeons themselves
  • There's an estranged biological father in there, too
  • Brothers don't always have the best relationship
  • Some medical jargon, but not too much to bog the story down
  • I really liked it - thought it had a great (albeit sad) ending
  • Would recommend it
