Earlier this summer I saw the most recent Harry Potter film with some friends. Seeing that movie made me want to read the books again, so over the summer up until now I've cruised all the way through all seven Harry Potter books. I will state again that one of the great benefits of being single and not having children is the freedom to spend hours doing nothing but being buried in a good book. Hence my ability to devote so much time to them.
Well, this past Sunday I finished book #7. I had read the book when it first came out two years ago, but had devoured it so quickly then that I had forgotten much of what happened. The story is so good. A friend pointed out to me that one of the reasons the Harry Potter books are so engrossing is because it's a classic good vs. evil story...with a bunch of other great stuff thrown in.
I'm a bit sad now that I've finished the books again. It's like I need to get used to the fact that there's no more of them to read, before I can accept that and move on to another book.

It would take me an entire year to read 7 books, maybe longer...
I am sad that the series is over. I felt a loss at the end and even though about trying to find another series to replace the need to have something SO GOOD to read. I will let you know if I find a good replacement.
