I recently changed office locations, and am now getting used to working in a different part of Detroit. I like my new location, primarily because it is within walking distance (2 blocks) of this great little bakery/cafe. It's called Avalon Bakery, and if you're ever in the mid-town area of Detroit I highly recommend it. One of the things I like about it is that it is not a big chain coffee shop. It's small, independently and locally owned, everything is fresh and a lot of their stuff is organic. I'm not a die-hard organic-eater, but it makes me feel good to know eating healthy food with supporting a local business.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I had to walk over there for lunch and enjoy my sandwich out on their patio. I can see that this place may be getting more of my money than I should be spending on coffee!

Hi Amanda, I just couldn't resist this comment. We know you are not a total organic eater, because of an earlier blog about the big hamburg and fries you had because you were stressed out at work. (-:
Hope we can get to this neat coffee shop sometime when we are visiting.
