The End of the Fast

The Daniel Fast my roommate and I were on for the past 40 days ended today. And yet I still had a very "Daniel-fast friendly" breakfast of oatmeal, which probably makes up for un-allowed the piece of pie I had yesterday while still on the fast. When you have lunch at the Grand Traverse Pie Company, you kind of have to have pie, right?

We didn't stick to everything on the fast perfectly. Partly because sometimes it was hard to do when eating with a group of people, especially in a restaurant, and partly because sometimes we just really wanted a piece of pie.

Like I said in an earlier post, we weren't doing this for spiritual reasons, but more so to help build healthier eating habits. I did discover some new, healthier food options that I'm planning on incorporating in my every-day meals, and I'm hoping to remain more aware of the kinds of stuff I'm eating, and be more intentional about making good choices. Thin Mints notwithstanding.
