Last week was a wonderful week away from the office. I had vacation time to use, and in kind of a "lull" time at work (more like the eye of the hurricane), so decided to take the week off.
Part of it was spent with my sister, helping her a bit as they continue to finish their house. It was fun to take my 5-year old nephew to preschool. All the moms there kept commenting on how much my sister and I look alike...gee, never heard that before! And it melted my heart when Isaac ran up to me as I picked him up and gave me a big hug, letting the others there know that I'm his "Aunt Amanda". And sweet Kaylee...what fun it was to play Mario Cart Wii each night with her sitting in my lap. I'll use that as my excuse as to why I did so poorly at that game. I don't think Abbie will remember my being there, but it was sweet to hold and cuddle her as well.
I also spent part of a day with Andrea, taking her and her new babe to run some errands and having dinner with them.
And on Friday - which was a lovely spring day - I took the bike out to one of the metro parks for a long, nice ride.
The weekend was topped off with the missions festival at church, where I was much encouraged to hear how God is working through His people around the globe and here in the States.
*Sigh* It was a bit hard to go back to work today...but it's back to the real world. I can't help but think how blessed I am...and this week off was a good reminder of that.
