Chickens, The New Songbird

So my roommate is taking classes towards a degree in music, and as such was required to purchase this book for her class this semester:


I'm trying to figure out who thought it made sense to put a picture of a chicken on the cover of a book that teaches music theory. I'm sure this person was thinking, "Which bird makes me think of lovely music? A robin? A canary? No - a chicken!"

It's so absurd, it makes me laugh!
