For the past several weeks, the movie "Little Murder" has been in the process of being shot right behind my house. It's been interesting - having streets blocked off, port-o-potties right outside the kitchen window, and "lights, camera, action" going until the wee hours of the morning. The plot of the movie (according to IMDB.com) is "In post-Katrina New Orleans, a disgraced detective encounters the ghost of a murdered woman who wants to help him identify her killer." Apparently the streets in my neighborhood could pass for a flood-ravaged area of the South.
Earlier this week, one of the guys who lives below us mowed the lawn, being considerate enough to time the mowing of it while the crew wasn't shooting. Later that day, I glanced out the back window and saw a man I didn't recognize raking up the grass clippings. I didn't really think anything of it - I thought maybe the guys downstairs asked him to do it, or something. Turns out, he was with the film crew.
My downstairs neighbor got a call from one of the film crew he had befriended, and told him that the film needed grass clippings, and they didn't think we'd mind if they took ours. A little strange, but at least they raked the lawn for us!
So, if you end up seeing the film "Little Murder", be sure to look for grass clippings. They came from my lawn.
