Like many other people in America, last night I watched Michael Phelps's amazing victory that landed him his 7th gold medal in this year's Olympics. I was dismayed for a bit last night when the sports commentator mentioned that coach for the swimmer Phelps beat - Cavic - was filing some kind of protest. I was afraid there would be a big squabble and fight over who really came in first. Then I read this on NBCOlympics.com:
"Cavic ... said he came in simply wanting to earn a bronze medal, so he wasn't bitter about missing out on the gold. 'From the heart, I'm really enjoying this,' he said. 'I'm not about fighting it. I'm not angry at all.' "
I think this is impressive. Here's a guy who could be pouting and griping about how he should be the one getting the gold medal, and he seems to have such a great attitude about it.

You are so right Amanda. I did wonder if there would be any questions about the win. It was sooo close. Kudos to the bronze winner. He should be an example to all young athletes,(and coaches) it's how you play the game not just how to win. Mom
