Pillars of the Earth
This book was "okay" on my rating scale. The story itself was great - it's the story of the building of a cathedral in medieval England. I like the fact that the story covers a long period of time, giving the characters time to develop, and the story takes a number of twists and turns. It was also interesting to read about the relationship between the Church and the monarchy back in those days. However, I didn't really like how the story ended, and there were a number of very explicit scenes throughout the book. It's kind of an "R" rated book. I don't think I'll be picking up the sequel to this.
