Leaving on a Jet Plane

Tomorrow I leave for a missions trip to Brazil. A group from my church is going down to work with some missionaries we support down there. I have the day off of work today, so I can spend time just relaxing and packing.

The past couple of weeks have been jam-packed at work, and I was kind of stressing out that I would be leaving in the middle of a couple of big projects. I am leaving in the middle of them, but other people are stepping in to fill the void.

God has been good in this way, and I think he's trying to show me a couple of things: First, I need to trust more in him that he sees and cares about what's going on in my little corner of the world, and second, sometimes I need a dose of humility and realize that the world, does not in fact, rest upon my shoulders. :-)

So, two good lessons learned already - and that's even before the trip!

I am bummed that I will be missing out on the annual Gaylord 4th of July fun.
