The final book in the "Anne of Green Gables" series is called "Rilla of Ingleside". It's a coming-of-age story about Anne's youngest daughter, Rilla, and takes place during WWI. I LOVE this book. I've read it several times, and every time there are several points throughout the story where I just break down and cry. I'm not immune to shedding a tear or two at the end of a touching story, but this is one book that pulls at the heartstrings the whole way through. I love the way L.M. Montgomery writes this story. I highly recommend this book, even if you've never read any of the other Anne books (although having read those will make this story even richer).

Ooh, thank you for the recommendation. I love Anne of Green Gables (and the miniseries, of course!) but I have to admit I know nothing of the series. I'll add this to my list.
i never read this one because i could never get through Rainbow Valley... do you recommend just skipping ahead to this one? is this where they got the storyline for that random third movie?
