Summer Reading

I love to read. Seriously, no matter how busy I am (or think I am) I pretty much always find time to read a bit before going to bed. I also usually read while eating lunch or dinner. Occasionally I'll watch T.V. while eating dinner, but for some reason that just feels "wrong". So, because it seems weird to just sit there and eat by myself, I read.

After finishing Gone with the Wind, I picked up A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (the same author of The Kite Runner). I just finished it last night. It's a great book - I think I liked it better than The Kite Runner. The story is pretty sad, but I didn't cry until the very last line of the book.

Now, with all the Harry Potter madness going on, I've borrowed a couple of Harry Potter books - The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince from Andrea so I can get up to speed before borrowing her copy of the last one. :-) I like it when my friends own the books I want to read, and they let me borrow them!

I've also checked out of the library the book 1776 on CD. I need something to listen to while I work on my latest project, which is being made for the coming babe of a dear friend of mine.

And, as if this wasn't enough, I'm also reading Justice Matters by Randy Brown, who is a pastor of a small church here in Detroit. This one doesn't fall into the "pleasure reading" category...it's much more of a convicting/thinking reading book.

Yeah for books!

Oh my gosh! you have quite the resding list! Your book on CDis a great idea - I often opt for that route in "reading" when I have things I would like to get done and I need to take some time and be patient - sewing, cleaning, folding mounds of laundry, cooking complicated dinners, etc. Sometimes I feel like I am cheating because I am not actually reading it but I really love this form of entertainment!
