Being Crafty (Again)

I used some down time I had over the holidays to make myself another bulletin board. I made one several years ago, and used the same technique to make this one. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, considering that I only spent a total of about $10 to make it!

The cork board was free, as Sarah had left it behind when she moved out. The gray fabric covering the board was also free, courtesy of my Mom's supply of random fabric scraps. The fleece I used as a padding was a remnant from JoAnn's that was marked 75% percent off, so it cost me about $2. The ribbon was the most expensive, at about $8. The thumb tacks I had left over from when I made the other board.

A close-up look. The picture is a treasure I found hidden in a book that had been tucked away for years. It's a watercolor painting, with a sweet note on the back, made for me by a dear friend back when we were in college. She initialed it "L.C.", because those where her initials back then.

My next DIY-project? Re-finishing that brown chair which I got at a thrift store for $5! I bought it because every bedroom needs a chair...where else would I put my clothes?
