Recent Random Pictures

Here's some recent pictures from the past couple of months I thought I'd share:

In September, Lisa, Andrea, Karen's sisters, and I threw a baby shower for Karen. Baby Jackson arrived at the end of October!

This is the blanket I made for Jackson. Karen & Jay didn't find out what they were having, hence the neutral colors.

This is a picture of me and the only pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes I'll ever wear. And they don't even fit. A coworker of mine was cleaning out her garage, where these were stored (!) and wanted to give them away. They're a size 6 1/2, with stiletto heels, and don't even come close to fitting. I thought I could give them to a friend of mine, but she declined them. So now I have this pair of rather beat-up designer boots that don't fit anyone in my house. I think I'm going to try and sell them on Craigslist or something to see if I can get some money for them. My guess is these boots were probably close to $800 - $1,000 when new.

In October I was out of town for a few days for work. When I returned home, my roommate had decorated by bedroom door like this. Turns out she had these balloons because it was Boss's Day, and her teammates had given them to her. What is a girl to do with a dozen blown-up balloons? Decorate her roommate's bedroom door, of course. It made me smile.

This picture is from this past weekend. The weather was so amazing, my roommate and I had to take advantage of it and finally rake our front lawn. The one maple tree we have in the front yard has dropped pretty much all of its leaves, and they are (almost) all in these 18 bags. We still have a bit more to rake, but had to quit because we ran out of bags, and the hardware store was closed when we tried to get more. I wish we could burn the leaves. Nothing says fall like the smell of burning leaves. It's seriously one of my favorite scents.
